ROBO INVESTING END OF Q1 2021 UPDATE

My Robo Investing portfolio consists of Syfe and StashAway.

Syfe’s Allocation: 98.7% REIT, 1.1% Cash
StashAway’s Allocation: 72% Stock, 7% REIT, 20% Commodity, 1% Cash

It has been a year since the Covid-19 stock market ‘crash’ in 2020.

A question I have been asking myself recently is “Is passive income truly passive?” There is no textbook answer to that question now. But it is almost certain that robo investing becomes passive after it becomes automated. Set up a the GIRO, let it run and go do whatever other things you want.

The Pros about using Robos are;
1. they are automated
2. dividends are automatically reinvested
3. easy to setup (good for beginners)

The Cons about using Robos are;
1. you can’t choose what to invest in
2. they haven’t been around long enough

FINAL THOUGHTS

The “passive income” income here ranges about SGD100 to SGD200 for every SGD1000 invested. Some senile or foggy-brain people may say $100 is so little. A perspective I would like to offer is, SCALE UP. Do not just invest $1000 and expect to make $100,000 out of it.

Recently, I have also started using Endowus to invest my CPF OA money. It is a pretty easy to use platform. I have looked through the funds, and the returns are pretty decent as well. This may be updated at end of Q2 2021.
